POTUS Turns On Ally In Explosive MAGA Civil War

4 mins read

President Donald Trump absolutely roasted Lauren Boebert Saturday, threatening to back a primary challenger after the Colorado Republican sided with his longtime MAGA nemesis, Rep. Thomas Massie.

Trump torched Boebert in a furious Truth Social post after she appeared alongside Massie at campaign stops in Kentucky ahead of the congressman’s May 19 primary.

“Boebert is campaigning for the Worst ‘Republican’ Congressman in the History of our Country, Thomas Massie,” Trump wrote.

The president then turned directly on the Colorado congresswoman.

“Anybody who can be that dumb deserves a good Primary fight!” Trump posted.

He also mocked Boebert as “Weak Minded” and blasted her as a “Carpetbagger” for relocating to Colorado’s 4th Congressional District.

Trump added he would consider it an “Honor” to back a primary challenger against her if one emerged.

The attack stunned many conservatives given Boebert’s years as one of Trump’s loudest allies in Congress.

🪖Nine battle-tested candidates are ready to strike a decisive blow — but only if they get the support they need right now. 🪖 Join the grassroots push to protect the House Majority and back them today! ➡️➡️➡️ Make a 9X impact!!! 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

But the Colorado congresswoman quickly signaled she had no intention of retreating.

“Yes, I saw the President’s post. No I’m not mad or offended,” Boebert wrote on X. “I knew the risks when I agreed to stand by my friend Thomas Massie. I was, and will be, America First, America Always, and MAGA.”

The drama exploded after Boebert joined Massie for campaign appearances in Shelby and Oldham counties days before Kentucky Republicans head to the polls.

Massie faces a Trump-backed challenge from retired Navy SEAL and farmer Ed Gallrein.

Trump has spent months trying to politically destroy Massie after the Kentucky Republican repeatedly broke with him on several major issues.

Massie voted against Trump’s One Big Beautiful Bill Act, opposed U.S. strikes on Iran and joined efforts to force the release of Jeffrey Epstein-related federal records.

The Kentucky congressman also angered Trump by siding against some tariff policies and objecting to procedural rules surrounding the SAVE Act.

Trump’s frustration with Massie has been building publicly for months.

At a March rally in Hebron, Kentucky, Trump blasted the congressman as a “complete and total disaster.”

Weeks earlier during the National Prayer Breakfast, Trump called Massie a “moron” while criticizing the lawmaker’s push for Epstein file disclosures.

The president escalated the attacks again Sunday morning.

“Bad Congressman Tom Massie voted against Tax Cuts, the Border Wall, our Military and Law Enforcement,” Trump wrote. “Actually, he voted against almost everything that is good.”

Trump then urged Kentucky Republicans to remove Massie from office.

“The Worst Republican Congressman in History,” Trump posted. “Kentucky, vote the bum out on Tuesday.”

But Massie appeared more amused than intimidated.

Speaking to Fox News, the congressman dismissed Trump’s threat to recruit a primary challenger against Boebert by noting Colorado’s filing deadline had already passed.

“I think he should be mending fences with these folks, not trying to burn bridges,” Massie said.

Massie later argued on ABC’s “This Week” that his situation differed from other Republicans who collapsed after drawing Trump’s wrath.

“[I have] the endorsement of the right to life organizations, the gun organizations,” Massie said.

“I had four members of Congress come here yesterday and campaign with me.”

The Kentucky Republican also suggested Trump’s attacks were actually helping his campaign financially.

“It’s good for, you know, some money coming in because people don’t like that,” Massie said.

Despite the public warfare, Boebert continued trying to balance support for both men.

Days before the primary, she posted a statement praising both Trump and Massie simultaneously.

“Below is my friend Thomas Massie. He loves America and is fighting to save it,” Boebert wrote.

“Also below is my friend and President, Donald Trump. He’s put his life on the line to save this great country. I support both of these men.”

Boebert also joined Massie’s effort to force the Justice Department to release Epstein-related records through a discharge petition. Only three other Republicans signed onto the move.

The feud unfolded as another Republican critic of Trump suffered a devastating political collapse in Louisiana.

Sen. Bill Cassidy finished third Saturday in his own party’s primary after years of backlash tied to his 2021 vote to convict Trump following the Jan. 6 Capitol riot.

Trump-endorsed Rep. Julia Letlow captured roughly 45% of the vote, while Louisiana Treasurer John Fleming secured about 28%.

Cassidy trailed behind both candidates with roughly 25%. Because no candidate reached a majority, Letlow and Fleming will now advance to a runoff.

Trump celebrated Cassidy’s humiliation almost immediately. “His disloyalty to the man who got him elected is now a part of legend,” Trump wrote. “It’s nice to see that his political career is OVER!”

The president later praised Letlow separately. “Julia Letlow is a fantastic person,” Trump posted.

Cassidy appeared to reference Trump during his concession speech without directly naming him.

“But you don’t pout, you don’t whine, you don’t claim the election was stolen,” Cassidy told supporters. “You don’t manufacture some excuse.”

Louisiana Sen. John Kennedy later acknowledged the political reality surrounding Cassidy’s defeat.

“Unless you’re God’s perfect idiot, the result was predictable,” Kennedy said during an appearance on “The Sunday Briefing.”

“I think the president’s endorsement of Congresswoman Letlow was sort of the icing on the cake.”

Kennedy added that Cassidy had been politically vulnerable for more than a year.

“And I don’t think anybody was especially surprised, especially after President Trump weighed in,” he said.

The back-to-back fights over Cassidy and Massie showed exactly what happens to Republicans who end up on the wrong side of Trump.

Now Trump is throwing the full weight of his political operation behind Gallrein in hopes of finally defeating one of his most stubborn Republican critics.

“The man running against Massie, Ed Gallrein, is a true American Patriot,” Trump wrote Saturday night. “He is loyal, and MAGA all the way.”

Trump ended the post with another direct shot at Massie.

“WIPE AWAY THE STENCH OF ONE OF THE WORST CONGRESSMEN IN THE HISTORY OF OUR GREAT PARTY,” the president wrote. “MAY WE NEVER HAVE TO DEAL WITH HIM AGAIN!”

  1. Massie voted against the border wall. Living in AZ and watching illegal aliens and mass amnesties for decades I can say that anyone especially a GOP representative voting against securing our border is a red flag. The female Bo whatever is an idiot and Massie has to go! Not a conservative or a good republican and I would say that about anyone who was behind voting against a secure border to keep illegals from just walking across our borders and immediately sucking on our welfare that we citizens pay for in taxes. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH! Vote these idiots out NOW!
