AOC Reveals Why MTG Is On A GOP ‘Revenge Tour’

3 mins read

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez stirred controversy Monday after alleging that President Donald Trump personally shut down Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene’s push to run for Senate in Georgia.

During an Instagram livestream, Ocasio-Cortez told her followers, “Here’s some tea for you,” before diving into what she called insider details.

She claimed Greene’s recent behavior stemmed from frustration after being denied Trump’s approval for a Senate bid.

“People are like, ‘Oh my God, she’s saying all these things, like what’s gotten into her lately?’” Ocasio-Cortez said.

“Marjorie Taylor Greene wanted to run for Senate earlier this year in Georgia, and Trump told her no.”

The New York Democrat added that Trump and his advisers “shut down” Greene’s “personal ambitions to run for Senate,” claiming that the congresswoman has been “on a revenge tour ever since.”

Greene, who has built her political identity as a fierce Trump ally, has recently voiced criticisms of her own party, fueling speculation of growing rifts.

Appearing on ABC’s “The View” Tuesday, she acknowledged that her relationship with the president has hit a rough patch but insisted her loyalty remains intact.

“I do love him,” she said of Trump, before adding that disagreements were normal.

“Donald Trump, he usually yells at everybody, so we’re all used to it. But he’s the president of the United States.”

The Georgia Republican said she’s unbothered by speculation that the president might not “love” her back, noting that she’s never been afraid to speak her mind.

“When I ran for Congress in 2020, I criticized Republicans and Democrats equally because I come from a working-class family,” Greene told the show’s panel, which included Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, and Sunny Hostin.

“My district is blue-collar, full of people who’ve been crushed by decades of failure in Washington. I have no problem pointing fingers at everyone.”

Her appearance on the liberal talk show angered some conservative figures, prompting Greene to fire back at what she called “pathetic Republican men” and “paid social media influencers” attacking her for engaging with critics.

“When I talk about weak Republican men, I’m pretty much talking about the leadership in the House and the Senate,” she said when pressed to name names.

“Everybody’s like, ‘Marjorie Taylor Greene has changed,’” she exclaimed during the heated exchange, pushing back against accusations that she’s softened her stances.

Sen. Ted Cruz, speaking on CNBC’s “Squawk Box,” seemed to distance himself from Greene’s recent comments, suggesting her views were drifting leftward.

“What I’ve found is that whenever an elected official decides they’re going to turn on Israel and hate Israel, you will very quickly see every other policy out of their mouth become very liberal,” Cruz said.

“Suddenly Marjorie is for massive government spending and open borders. That’s not where the American people are.”

He concluded by criticizing the ongoing government shutdown, calling it “the stupidest shutdown.”

Greene, in turn, appeared to take aim at House Speaker Mike Johnson during a recent conference call, complaining that GOP leadership had failed to deliver any concrete replacement for the Affordable Care Act.

“Johnson said he’s got ideas and pages of policy ideas … but he refused to give one proposal to our GOP conference,” Greene wrote on X. “Apparently I have to go into a SCIF to find out the Republican healthcare plan!”

The congresswoman has used social media to defend her record, sharing a screenshot of her perfect 100 percent Liberty Score from the Conservative Review to prove she hasn’t gone soft.

“Here is my voting card and nothing has changed about me, I’m 1,000,000% America ONLY,” she wrote.

“Sorry I’m not sorry I don’t obey Republican men’s demands that I, as a woman, don’t remain seen but not heard.”

In a statement to the Daily Mail, Greene said she doesn’t answer to “weak Republicans” or online influencers who think conservative women should “just sit down and fall in line.”

She argued that genuine outreach requires speaking directly to all Americans, regardless of political platform.

“I’m not afraid to go anywhere and talk directly to the American people, whether it’s Bill Maher, The View, or even CNN,” she said, adding that conservative activist Charlie Kirk built his career engaging with ideological opponents. “That’s what I’m doing too, and that’s how we win.”

Greene also mocked her critics, pointing to online personalities who spend “all day behind a screen attacking me.”

She singled out the account “CatTurd” as an example, saying it had posted dozens of times in a single day.

“I don’t see these folks attacking Fox News when they’re praising Democrat Senator John Fetterman,” Greene continued. “There’s a clear double standard, and I’m not afraid to call it out.”
