President Donald Trump took aim at one of his longest-standing political rivals, Senator Elizabeth Warren, with a blistering series of jabs that reignited their years-long feud.
Speaking during a ceremony marking the 90th anniversary of the Social Security Act, Trump veered from the formal occasion to torch the Massachusetts Democrat over her recent behavior on the campaign trail, and even called for her to be tested for drugs.
“She’s a nut job,” Trump said bluntly. “I watched her the other night. She’s all hopped up endorsing a communist in New York City, and she was all excited and jumping up and down.”
“She’s got to take a drug test,” he added. “She really, though, she’s got to take a drug test. There’s no way somebody can act that way and be normal.”
.@POTUS: "Elizabeth Warren said she was an Indian. We call her Pocahontas—she's a liar… I watched her the other night, she's all hopped up endorsing a communist in New York City, and she was all excited and jumping up and down. She's gotta take a drug test, she really does."🤣 pic.twitter.com/cqpz5pkNse

Trump’s remarks referred to Warren’s recent enthusiastic endorsement of New York City mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani, a Democratic socialist the president has openly labeled a communist.
Her name surfaced after a reporter asked Trump about Warren and Senator Bernie Sanders allegedly spreading “misinformation” on Social Security.
The question came from a LindellTV correspondent, who noted Warren’s repeated claims that the Trump administration intended to slash Social Security benefits.
“Democrats like Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren continue to peddle the lie and the claim that you’re trying to cut Social Security despite your repeated promises to protect it,” the reporter began.

“Why do you think they keep pushing this misinformation, and literally terrorizing the elderly in America that sadly keep watching the very misleading mainstream media?”
Trump smiled at the question, clearly appreciating the framing. “I love your question,” he replied. “I should have called you almost first.”
From there, the president wasted no time revisiting one of his favorite criticisms of Warren, her debunked claim of Native American ancestry.
“It’s so vicious what they do. Elizabeth Warren said she was an Indian. We call her Pocahontas. She’s a liar. She lied her whole career,” Trump charged.

He pointed to her past self-identification as Native American on forms submitted to Harvard and the University of Pennsylvania.
“Based on the fact that she was Indian, she was able to get into certain colleges, get certain jobs, get into certain universities to work there. She’s a liar and a mean person. She’s a nut job.”
Warren’s 2018 DNA test later showed she was only 1/512th Native American, and Trump has never let her forgive it.
The president also accused Warren of harming small banks in the Midwest through her policies, saying she had “put ’em out of business,” before adding, “She’s a mean, horrible human being.”
This wasn’t the first time in recent months Trump had used a public platform to mock Warren.
In March, while addressing Congress, he dropped his favorite moniker for her during a discussion on foreign aid.
“The United States has sent hundreds of billions of dollars to support Ukraine’s defense,” Trump told the audience.
“You want to keep it going for another five years,” he said, before looking toward Warren. “Pocahontas says yes.” Warren, unfazed, clapped and nodded in return.

Afterward, Warren told interviewers she saw Trump’s mention as proof she was making an impact. She said she had “hit a nerve” by applauding U.S. support for Ukraine.
“If that hits a nerve for Trump, then it’s worth sitting through the rest of that speech,” she told Fox News.
She framed her stance as a defense of democracy abroad. “What I was talking about is the importance of American support for the Ukrainians, who are fighting on the front lines for democracy and fighting back against an autocrat,” she said.
“Everyone needs to understand: They take a bite out of Ukraine, they’re not giving up there. They’re coming for the rest of Europe, and we need to fight it,” she added.
Warren’s criticism of the president has extended to domestic policy, particularly Social Security.
In an April op-ed for Fox News, she claimed that under Trump’s leadership, “Social Security is under attack like it has never been before.”
“We shouldn’t be cutting Social Security services and threatening Americans’ benefits – we should be making the program stronger,” she wrote.

“People are struggling with sky-high prices while their retirement savings are evaporating. We need a temporary increase in benefits right now to give people some relief.”
“We should also protect the long-term security of the system by lifting the cap on the amount millionaires and billionaires pay into Social Security, which would also yield enough money to permanently expand benefits,” Warren noted.
While Warren continues to press her case in the media, Trump has remained combative, casting her as both dishonest and extreme.
Yet when the topic turned to Bernie Sanders, the president’s tone softened slightly.
For 90 years, Social Security has paid out every benefit owed to every eligible American. Now Trump is working overtime to dismantle it.

“Bernie Sanders is Bernie Sanders. I don’t mind him so much,” Trump remarked. “He’s just a liberal guy, very liberal guy, wacky guy.”
“He’s still sharp. I got to tell you, you know, he’s 86, or 87, or something. He’s still sharp,” Trump added.
“You compare that to Joe Biden… So I don’t mind Bernie Sanders. With him, you know what you’re getting.”
