President Donald Trump torched Iran’s latest offer to end the war Sunday, calling the regime’s response “totally unacceptable.”
“I have just read the response from Iran’s so-called ‘Representatives.’ I don’t like it — TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE!” Trump posted on Truth Social.
The furious response came after Iranian officials spent more than a week reviewing an American-backed framework that reportedly included ending hostilities, reopening maritime traffic through the Strait of Hormuz and launching a roughly month-long negotiation period tied to Tehran’s uranium stockpile and enrichment operations.
Trump has been firm that any final agreement must permanently block Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon.

The Iranian response was reportedly delivered Sunday through Pakistani mediators.
Shortly afterward, Trump indicated during a phone interview with Axios that negotiations were heading in the wrong direction.
“I don’t like their letter. It’s inappropriate. I don’t like their response,” Trump told the outlet.
The president also confirmed he spoke with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu after reviewing Tehran’s proposal.

According to Axios reporter Barak Ravid, Trump described the conversation as positive but made clear the negotiations remained under American control.
“It was a very nice conversation. We have a good relationship, but this is my business, not anyone else’s,” Trump said.
Netanyahu appeared to reinforce Trump’s hardline posture during an interview that aired Sunday night on CBS’ “60 Minutes.”
The Israeli leader argued the conflict with Iran was far from resolved despite recent military successes.
“I think it accomplished a great deal, but it’s not over,” Netanyahu said.
“There’s still nuclear material, enriched uranium that has to be taken out of Iran.”
He also warned that Tehran still maintained enrichment facilities, missile infrastructure and proxy forces throughout the region.
“There are still enrichment sites that have to be dismantled,” Netanyahu added. “There are ballistic missiles that they still want to produce.”
Iranian officials have reportedly refused to abandon uranium enrichment entirely, though leaders in Tehran proposed reducing portions of their highly enriched uranium stockpile.
According to The Wall Street Journal, Iranian negotiators also floated transferring remaining enriched uranium to a third country with the understanding it could be returned if the United States later withdrew from the agreement.

Netanyahu suggested Israel and the United States could physically remove Iran’s nuclear material if diplomacy stalled.
“I’m not going to talk about military means,” Netanyahu said. “But what President Trump has said to me, I want to go in there, and I think it can be done physically.”
“If you have an agreement, and you go in, and you take it out, why not?” He questioned, before noting, “that’s the best way.”
Hours before blasting Iran’s latest proposal, Trump posted another lengthy message accusing Tehran of manipulating American presidents for nearly five decades.
The president argued Iranian leaders repeatedly delayed negotiations while expanding their power and funding militant activity across the Middle East.
“Iran has been playing games with the United States, and the rest of the World, for 47 years,” Trump wrote. “DELAY, DELAY, DELAY!”

Trump also revived his long-running attacks on former President Barack Obama over the 2015 Iran nuclear deal.
“He was not only good to them, he was great, actually going to their side, jettisoning Israel, and all other Allies, and giving Iran a major and very powerful new lease on life,” Trump wrote.
The president again accused Obama of effectively bankrolling the Iranian regime by releasing billions of dollars in frozen assets.
“Hundreds of Billions of Dollars, and 1.7 Billion Dollars in green cash, flown into Tehran, was handed to them on a silver platter,” Trump noted. “Every Bank in D.C., Virginia, and Maryland was emptied out.”
Trump claimed Iranian leaders were stunned by the amount of cash delivered under the Obama-era agreement.
“It was so much money that when it arrived, the Iranian Thugs had no idea what to do with it,” he posted.
Trump then pivoted toward former President Joe Biden, arguing his administration only emboldened Tehran further.
“They finally found the greatest SUCKER of them all, in the form of a weak and stupid American President,” Trump wrote.
“He was a disaster as our ‘Leader,’ but not as bad as Sleepy Joe Biden!”
Trump also accused Iran of funding attacks against Americans while violently suppressing protests inside the country.
“For 47 years the Iranians have been ‘tapping’ us along, keeping us waiting, killing our people with their roadside bombs, destroying protests,” Trump wrote. “They will be laughing no longer!”
The administration has repeatedly warned Tehran that negotiations cannot continue indefinitely.
Trump told reporters Friday he expected a crucial response from Iranian officials and hinted the next move would shape the administration’s course of action.
“We’re getting a letter [from Iran] supposedly tonight, so we’ll see how that goes,” Trump said.
At the time, the president appeared optimistic that Iranian officials wanted an agreement.
He also acknowledged concerns that Tehran could be deliberately dragging out negotiations.
“I don’t know,” Trump said when asked whether Iran was stalling. “We’ll find out soon enough.”
The White House has consistently maintained that any final agreement would require Iran to fully stop uranium enrichment and permanently abandon efforts to develop nuclear weapons.
Administration officials have also insisted Tehran must reopen maritime traffic through the Strait of Hormuz, a vital shipping route repeatedly threatened during the conflict.

Dealing with Iran specifically in the middle east is like trying to manage snakes. They are indeed not at the negotiations with an intent to end their dangerous games. Set a firm end of negotiations and then pick up where you left off in taking Iran back to the stone age. They might do better with rocks and sticks!
