Biden Ignores Injured Troops in Statement on Middle East ‘Developments’

2 mins read

President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris were rushed into the White House Situation Room about a Monday rocket attack which injured several US service members.

During the briefing, Biden and Harris learned that the timing of an imminent attack on Israel by Iran and Hezbollah remains uncertain, as well as the potential nature of such an attack, according to Axios.

The information appeared to contradict Secretary of State Antony Blinken’s warning to G7 counterparts that Iran and Hezbollah could strike Israel within 48 hours.

US intelligence believes the upcoming attacks could occur in two waves. The officials informed Biden and Harris that it is unclear which group – Iran, Hezbollah, or their surrogates – would hit first or how severe the attack could be.

Biden stated on his X account that the national security meeting covered “developments in the Middle East.”

He mentioned receiving updates on threats from Iran and its proxies, diplomatic efforts to reduce regional tensions, and preparations to support Israel if it faces another attack.

“We received updates on threats posed by Iran and its proxies, diplomatic efforts to de-escalate regional tensions, and preparations to support Israel should it be attacked again,” the president said.

“We also discussed the steps we are taking to defend our forces and respond to any attack against our personnel in a manner and place of our choosing.”

He did not, however, mention the attack on US troops on Monday.

US officials reported that “several” Americans were injured in the attack on Al Asad airbase in western Iraq, when one of two Katyusha rockets hit their intended target, according to Reuters.

One official mentioned that “Base personnel are conducting a post-attack damage assessment.”

The attack occurred as the US and Israel anticipated retaliation from Iran and its allies, following the deaths of two senior Hamas and Hezbollah officials last week.

Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh was killed by a bomb that was planted inside the guesthouse he was staying at in Tehran guesthouse.

While top Hezbollah commander Fuad Shukr, who was suspected of being the mastermind behind a rocket attack that killed 12 children in the Israel, died in an Israeli airstrike in Beirut.

The US has claimed to have had no involvement in the top official’s deaths, and Iran has placed the blame squarely on Israel and vowed retribution.

It still remains uncertain whether Iran or one of its proxies fired the missiles at Al Asad airbase on Monday.

The White House released a statement detailing what Biden and Harris learned behind closed doors in the Situation Room.

“They discussed the steps we are taking to defend our forces and respond to any attack against our personnel in a manner and place of our choosing,” the statement said.

“They were updated on U.S. military efforts to support the defense of Israel should it be attacked again.

“They were also briefed on continued diplomatic efforts to de-escalate regional tension and to bring the ceasefire and hostage release deal to a conclusion,’’ the statement concluded.

  1. Remove this incompetent fool from the presidency at once, by any means available. He has demonstrated his incompetence by endangering the entire world. Wake the eff up folks; we are being destroyed by our own government!

  2. I have one question here: WHAT WOULD WE DO IF CHINA HAD AN AIRBASE IN OKLAHOMA?
And maybe, another military spot in Texas, mainly for protecting criminal immigrant camps, but also for stealing the oil from oil wells there?
Would the USA sit still and just “tolerate such an illegal occupation?
I mean: WE ALL KNOW THAT THE INVASION OF IRAQ IN 2003 WAS CRIMINAL!
And: ARMING ISIS TO OVERRUN SYRIA (+ Iraq) AND SENDING TROOPS THERE “after them” – THAT WAS NOT ANY BETTER!
    – BUT THESE ILLEGAL OCCUPATION FORCES ARE STILL THERE !
(even after President Trump ordered, at least, Syria to be freed of those enemies)
LET US BE CLEAR: THE USA ARE NOT ABOVE INTERNATIONAL LAW
    – BUT THEY PRETEND IT AGAIN AND AGAIN!
PRESIDENT TRUMP STARTED THE RIGHT POLICY: NO WARS, NO PUTSCHES!
