New Mexico Democrat Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham blasted Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas in new leaked audio about border security.
In the audio file, which was posted by a Chaos Coordinator on X, formerly Twitter, on Thursday evening, Grisham can be heard complaining about a distinct lack of Border Patrol agents near a part of the state that touches the border close to El Paso, Texas.
“For the love of god, put [Border Patrol agents] at the border in Sunland Park where I don’t have a single Border Patrol agent — not one,” she seethed.
“And people pour over. And so I’m cranky with the Secretary,” Grisham continued. “Who knew that was coming [and] did not say a word to me.”

The New Mexico governor said she has been hounded by the press, who are “basically accusing me of being feckless,” over Border Patrol agents seizing legal cannabis at checkpoints throughout the state.
“But the press also knows that Border Patrol is taking a hard stance, and the only way is either we have to adjust it or I have to send you a letter saying ‘you’re persecuting the state, you are not using your discretion, you’re not working with me on immigration,’” Grisham told the person on the other end of the call.
She noted that she does not “want to send that letter,” but feels that the federal government has her “boxed in.”
“And here’s what the Secretary said to me,” she added. “‘Who cares? They make a lot of money.”
“I thought that was really inappropriate,” Grisham concluded. “Whatever you all want to do with that, but it was really inappropriate.”
According to the Daily Caller, the audio file was authentic and her office confirmed that the conversation, with the “high level admin official,” occurred this week.
Grisham’s office released a statement that said the conversation was never supposed to be meant for public consumption.
“This unauthorized and edited recording of the governor’s private phone call reflects what she has already said publicly — that she is frustrated by federal seizures of licensed cannabis products in New Mexico, particularly those from small producers,” spokesman communications director Michael Coleman told the press.
“She has expressed the same concerns in phone calls with Secretary Mayorkas.”
Grisham is like most democrats. They know what Biden and Mayorkas are doing is damaging our country but they are to cowardly to speak out publicly. We don’t need cowards leading our states.
