Democrat Faces Assault Accusations After Going Against Biden

After criticizing the White House on immigration, New York City Mayor Eric Adams faces sexual assault allegations stemming from two decades ago.

Adams has been a vocal critic of President Joe Biden’s lax immigration policies, which have led to an overwhelming number of immigrants demanding shelter and aid in New York City.

“This influx of asylum seekers is a serious crisis, one that New York City is facing largely on our own. It’s unfair and it’s not right that New York is going through this,” Adams has previously said.

He has repeatedly called for and been denied financial assistance from the federal government to deal with the immigration surge.

Now, a woman who allegedly worked with Adams in 1993 filed legal summons in the city’s supreme court claiming he sexually assaulted her. She is seeking at least $5 million in damages.

She said she experienced “sexual assault, battery, employment gender discrimination, retaliation, a hostile work environment and intentional infliction of emotional distress,” according to the documents.

A spokesperson for the mayor rejected her claims.

“The mayor does not know who this person is. If they ever met, he doesn’t recall it,” the spokesperson said. “But he would never do anything to physically harm another person and vigorously denies any such claim.”

Adams Also Under Federal Investigation

The latest allegations come about two weeks after the FBI seized Adams’ electronic devices as part of a federal investigation into his campaign fundraising.

His office denied any wrongdoing related to the raid and said he was cooperating with the investigation.

“As a former member of law enforcement, I expect all members of my staff to follow the law and fully cooperate with any sort of investigation—and I will continue to do exactly that. I have nothing to hide,” Adams said in a statement.

The FBI is looking into whether the mayor’s campaign took in illegal foreign donations from Turkey using a Brooklyn construction company to cover the origins.
