After two lawmakers were expelled in Tennessee, Arizona’s legislature has followed suit to expel a Republican representative for alleged ethics rules violations.
The state House claims Representative Liz Harris broke ethics rules when she invited “conspiracy theorist” Jacqueline Breger to speak on the chamber floor during a February joint committee hearing, according to AZ Family.
Breger went on to accuse prominent politicians, including Arizona Governor Katie Hobbs and state House Speaker Ben Toma, of being bribed by Mexican drug cartels.
The House Ethics Committee also said Harris lied when she said she was not aware Breger would make those claims if given the chance to speak.
In a video on Twitter, Harris can be seen leaving the chamber after the vote to expel her. Someone can be heard yelling, “Shame on you! Shame, shame, shame.”
Harris denied the allegations against her and said “God knows the truth” as she left the building.
“I stand on honesty and integrity. The report is a lie,” she told reporters outside. “God knows the truth. This was an example of how you need to toe the line. If you don’t toe the line, this is what happens.”
Democrat state Representative Stephanie Stahl Hamilton said she was the one who filed the complaint against Harris.
She said she believed Harris’ actions threatened democracy in Arizona.
“I could have guessed it would go this way,” Stahl Hamilton said. “But you just never know.”
“Guests who came in and immediately impugned leadership,” she went on. “Sitting judges, our governor, our secretary of state, the speaker of the House, and the entire Church of the Latter Day Saints. Those are not allegations you take lightly.”
Arizona House Democrats issued a statement following Harris’ removal.
“This is a sad day for our institution. But it is a necessary day. There has been real damage done to the lives and reputations of people who did not deserve it. Most importantly, the integrity of this House has been jeopardized,” the statement reads.

only spoke the truth which she and many others believe to be true. The progressive socialist communist party of the Democrats have denied their citizens their right of free speech and
some of their citizens their right of representation by Representative Liz Harris. This was done because they did not like to hear anything against their corrupt elections of 2022 and their falsely elected Governor. Will she be reinstated like the 2 socialist democrats idiots from Tennessee.
You are correct; this was pure politics vengeance, nothing more. It’s not the 1st connection to cartels & their money I have heard about that administration; I live in TX now, but lived n AZ for over 40 ys, so still pay attention there.
