Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., lashed out at Republicans Thursday following the shocking murder of Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk, blasting her critics as “full of s—” during a fiery interview that has further inflamed tensions in Washington.
The lawmaker’s outburst came just one day after Kirk was struck down by a sniper’s bullet outside Utah Valley University, a killing that has been described by many conservatives as a political assassination.
The 31-year-old activist left behind a grieving wife, Erika, and their two young children.
Speaking with pundit Mehdi Hasan on his Zeteo platform, Omar took aim at GOP lawmakers, singling out Rep. Nancy Mace, R-S.C., and President Donald Trump while brushing aside claims that Kirk sought respectful debate.

“You have people like Nancy Mace, who constantly harass, you know, people that she finds inferior and wants them not to exist in this country or ever,” Omar told Hasan.
“And, you know, you have people like Trump, who has incited violence against people like me,” she added. ”
And so, you know, these people are full of s–t, and it’s important for us to call them out while we feel anger and sadness.”
Omar sneered at accounts of Kirk’s legacy, mocking those who argued he only wanted open discussion.
“There are a lot of people who are talking about him just wanting to have a civil debate,” she said, before mocking what she described as years of offensive rhetoric from the conservative firebrand.

She pointed to his history on social media, recalling his statements on gun rights, George Floyd, and Juneteenth.
“What I do know for sure is that Charlie was someone who once said guns save lives after a school shooting. Charlie was someone who was willing to debate and downplay the death of George Floyd at the hands of Minneapolis police,” Omar said, laughing at what she called his record.
“There is nothing more f–ked up than to completely pretend that his words and actions haven’t been recorded and in existence for the last decade or so.”
Still, Omar admitted the assassination itself was difficult to watch. “It was really mortifying to hear the news, to see the video. You know, all I could think about was his wife, his children, that image is going to live forever,” she said.
Omar was trashed online for her commentary, and conservatives have called for her resignation.
“Ilhan Omar needs to be expelled from Congress,” someone tweeted. “After that, [Tom Homan]
needs to have ICE pick her up and deport her back to Somalia.

The Squad member responded online with an attack on the president. “While I disagreed with Charlie Kirk vehemently about his rhetoric, my heart breaks for his wife and children. I don’t wish violence on anyone. My faith teaches me the power of peace, empathy, and compassion,” she wrote.
“Right-wing accounts trying to spin a false story when I condemned his murder multiple times is fitting for their agenda to villainize the left to hide from the fact that Donald Trump gins up hate on a daily basis,” Omar added.

Republicans, meanwhile, have moved rapidly to honor Kirk’s memory. Rep. Andy Ogles, R-Tenn., announced Thursday that he will introduce legislation to award Kirk the Congressional Gold Medal, calling him an “American hero whose life was tragically cut short by a political assassin.”
“Charlie elevated our national discourse, inspired our students, and proclaimed Christ crucified with vigor and conviction,” Ogles wrote.
He described him as “a hero of the Christian faith” and “the embodiment of what our Founders envisioned when they enshrined the First Amendment.”
The proposal, formally titled the “Charlie Kirk Congressional Gold Medal Act,” has already drawn national attention.

Ogles declared, “Today, we honor Charlie Kirk by doing what he would have wanted—standing firm, never backing down in the face of threats from the murderous left.”
At the same time, President Donald Trump confirmed he will posthumously award Kirk the Presidential Medal of Freedom.
Speaking at a Pentagon ceremony, the president described Kirk as “a giant of his generation, a champion of liberty and an inspiration to millions and millions of people.”
He promised a “very big crowd” for the upcoming event, stressing that Kirk’s courage would continue to inspire young Americans.

“I have no doubt that Charlie’s voice and the courage he put into the hearts of countless people, especially young people, will live on,” Trump said.
The grief surrounding Kirk’s death was on full display Thursday when Vice President JD Vance accompanied the casket at Roland R. Wright Air National Guard Base in Salt Lake City.
Vance helped members of the National Guard carry the mahogany coffin up the steps of Air Force Two, ensuring Kirk’s remains would be flown home to Arizona.

He was joined by Erika Kirk, their two children, and Charlie’s parents. Second Lady Usha Vance comforted Erika by holding her hand as they stepped off the plane in Arizona.
Funeral services for the conservative activist are scheduled for next week, with President Trump confirming he will attend.
He said he had spoken with Erika Kirk, describing her as “devastated, absolutely devastated.”
She is a filthy dog, put her out of our country.
