Insane Stats from Border as Trump Takes Charge

US Southern Border

Illegal immigration has slowed to a near standstill at the U.S.-Mexico border, with crossings dropping to levels unseen in decades.

According to leaked Customs and Border Protection (CBP) data obtained by The Post, the number of illegal migrants crossing into the U.S. in February has fallen by more than 90% compared to the same month in 2024.

So far this month, an average of just 359 illegal migrants per day have been apprehended along the entire southern border.

If this trend continues, February could see the lowest monthly border crossings in at least 25 years—and potentially the lowest since 1968.

“It’s the lowest the U.S. has seen in almost a lifetime,” said Mark Krikorian, executive director of the Center for Immigration Studies.

“If you kind of break down the numbers, divide them by 365, we haven’t had numbers this low since the 1960s. So we’re talking 60-year lows if it’s sustained, obviously.”

A Complete Reversal from the Biden Years

The latest CBP data shows that as of February 11, only 3,953 illegal migrants had been caught trying to cross the border.

If the trend holds, total crossings for the month could drop to approximately 10,000—an astonishing reversal from last year when border agents were dealing with an average of 4,850 crossings per day.

The last time crossings came close to this level was in April 2017, shortly after Trump first took office, when they briefly dropped to 11,000 for the month.

John Gramlich of the Pew Research Center noted that while crossings began trending downward late in Biden’s presidency, the dramatic drop seen under Trump is unparalleled.

Border officials on the ground are hailing the turnaround as a much-needed relief after years of chaos under Biden’s lax immigration policies.

“We’ve gone from one extreme to the other—historic levels of people crossing to historic lows in apprehensions. It’s very surprising,” said Terrell County, Texas, Sheriff Thaddeus Cleveland.

San Diego, California, remains the most active border region, but even there, only 934 illegal migrants have been apprehended so far this month.

This massive decline in illegal crossings is a direct result of President Trump’s aggressive border security measures.

His administration has ended the disastrous “catch and release” policy, deployed thousands of additional troops to the border, and launched a nationwide mass deportation effort.

“Already in the last few weeks, a message is being sent out that the border isn’t going to be trampled over anymore, that national security isn’t a joke to us,” a Border Patrol source told The Post.

Border Patrol agents, who faced restrictions under Biden’s open-border policies, say Trump’s leadership has been critical to turning the situation around.

“U.S. Border Patrol knows how to get the job done, we know how to secure the border,” Chief Mike Banks said on Fox & Friends.

“All we needed was a president that was going to empower us—a strong leader like President Trump—and a secretary like Secretary Noem that knows exactly what we need to do to secure the border.”

  1. And I remember how gleefully Faux Joe was when he did the pic op signing the document to abolish all of Trumps immigrations handling rules and regulations. Why doesn’t some legal experts find a way to revoke the Bidumb Crime Family citizenships and deport them all to Mexico ???
