President-elect Donald Trump recently revealed on Sunday that he has appointed his new “border czar” and US ambassador to the United Nations.
Tom Homan, a former leader of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), will become the “border czar” for his upcoming administration.
Homan, who is a staunch supporter of Trump’s immigration policies, will be tasked with overseeing security across the Southern and Northern borders, as well as maritime and aviation sectors.
Homan previously directed ICE during the first part of Trump’s initial term and has maintained a visible presence in conservative circles, advocating for Trump’s policies since then.
Trump expressed strong confidence in Homan’s abilities, stating in a Truth Social post, “I’ve known Tom for a long time, and there is nobody better at policing and controlling our Borders.”
He added that Homan will be responsible for deporting immigrants who are in the country illegally back to their home countries.
“Congratulations to Tom. I have no doubt he will do a fantastic, and long awaited for, job,” Trump concluded.
Trump has pledged to issue an executive order on his first day in office to end the automatic citizenship given to children born in the U.S. to immigrants residing illegally in the country.
Trump is also expected to resume construction of the border wall, a project that was halted by the Biden administration.
He may reintroduce the “Remain in Mexico” policy, which requires asylum-seekers to wait in Mexico for their U.S. immigration court proceedings.
Trump campaigned on “mass deportations,” which could be accomplished by declaring the border a national emergency on his first day in office.
The move will likely allow Trump use military bases as detention centers and military planes to deport immigrants to their country’s of origin.
In another notable appointment, Trump has reportedly offered the position of U.S. ambassador to the United Nations to Elise Stefanik, who has accepted the role.
Trump told the New York Post, “I am honored to nominate Chairwoman Elise Stefanik to serve in my Cabinet as U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations. Elise is an incredibly strong, tough, and smart America First fighter.”
Stefanik, who holds the highest rank among Republican women in the House, has been a close ally of Trump’s in recent years. She appeared at Trump’s rally inside Madison Square Garden last month as the presidential race heated up.
Accepting the role previously held by Nikki Haley—who had been Trump’s competitor in the Republican primaries—Stefanik told The Post on Sunday, “I am truly honored to earn President Trump’s nomination to serve in his Cabinet as U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations.”
Thank you Jesus!!
Also, thank you Kamala Harris for being such a screw up,and helping the red tsunami take back our country.
Elise Stefanik is an excellent choice. She IS a very tough, strong “junkyard dog” when it comes to fighting for America. She stood up to the lefty college presidents that allowed all the anti-Semitic protests that followed with their resignations. She will stand up to any “nonsense” from the other mostly liberal Ambassadors. And she will be located in NY, close by if Trump needs some advise.
Umm, excuse me. This means we lose another House seat to a Democrat. That even witch Hochul is the Dim Gov of NY. She is NOT going to appoint a Republican, even a RINO, to Stefanik’s seat. I fail to see the strategy here.
