Trump Campaign Wants To Pause State’s Voting Over Breach

The Trump team is up in arms after Colorado’s Secretary of State mistakenly exposed county voting system passwords online for months.

Trump’s legal representatives are urging Secretary Jena Griswold to pause mail-in ballot processing until they can reconfigure the systems affected by the breach.

Apparently, these passwords, crucial for vote-counting gear in nearly all counties, were accessible by simply clicking “unhide” on the state office’s website since June, as stated by The Denver Post.

Griswold, under fire from Republicans demanding her resignation, insists the breach didn’t jeopardize election security due to the state’s many protective measures. Yet, Trump’s camp is demanding more transparency.

“We are particularly concerned because your office knew of this security breach at least as early as October 24, yet concealed the problem by failing to notify anyone,” Trump lawyer attorney Scott Gessler commented. He pressed for immediate action to shield Colorado’s general election integrity.

Gessler acknowledged the potential inconvenience to Griswold’s office and the counties involved but pointed out that the measures are vital to ensure the election equipment remains secure and the chain-of-custody unbroken.

According to the Colorado County Clerks’ Association, Griswold’s office failed to promptly inform local election officials about the breach.

“Unfortunately, clerks found out about it from an email that came from the state GOP, which was incredibly disappointing,” Matt Crane from the CCCA commented to CBS.

“Regrettably, counties learned about it via an email from the state GOP, which was quite disappointing,” Matt Crane from the Colorado County Clerks’ Association told CBS.

“If a mistake happens in a county, counties have to report that out to the state immediately. And so with something like this, when it is such so severe in nature, potentially severe, we think that the first call should have been to the county, so that we could have taken a look at our systems and at our security processes and make sure that everything was okay.”

Deputy Secretary Christopher Beall explained on Thursday that officials were alerted to the issue just last week.

“It was quickly determined that the spreadsheet presented no immediate threat to the security of Colorado’s voting systems or the 2024 General Election,” Beall stated.

“The Department determined that because Colorado’s voting systems are protected by layers of security and redundancies, no single error can compromise the integrity of the system.”

Beall noted that cybersecurity specialists would visit the affected counties to update their voting system passwords.

Despite calls for Griswold to resign, she refuses to step down, asserting that the data breach is without consequence.

“No, I’m not going to resign,” Griswold commented to Denver7. “A civil servant in the department made a serious mistake that we have actively taken action to remedy.”

“Humans make mistakes,” she added. “And that’s why I’ve been so focused on adding more layers of security to our elections.”

  1. More ways to cheat when voting. As for the honesty of politicians and especially democrats, just look at all of the skullduggery that has been perpetrated by the present administration,
we are well on our way to becoming a banana republic. It is shameful that we have allowed our elected officials to do this to America.

  2. It’s a shame what the dims will do to win there must be serious consequences when politicians and their surrogates violate the constitution. There is treason at nearly every level from the Obama/Biden regime and all our alphabet agencies and that needs to be dealt with seriously or it will never stop.

  3. The owner of this mess refuses to step down. Hides the information since October 24th and feels no responsibility. Amazing, stunningly amazing! It was not just one little mistake but a big one then compounded by keeping it hiden. So the buck stops with this person Griswold. Step up since you made this much worse instead of owning it from the beginning! What a Bit*h and quite a lousy attitude! We cannot have fair elections these days, it just can’t happen! Cheaters as in the dimwits have NO lines they will not cross.

  4. Just one more case where the demonRATS did something blatantly nefarious concerning “elections” and got caught, so they MUST TRY to downplay it. They are still pushing that there was no cheating during the 2020 election and 70% of Americans DO NOT BELIEVE IT. We are still seeing expose’s of voting shenanigans being found four years after the election from Hell. Colorados results should be quarantined held the facts of this breach are determined. Once the votes are counted it is too late to do anything about them.
