Minnesota Governor Tim Walz made one of the worst (presumed) gaffes to ever happen on a stage in Tuesday night’s vice presidential debate.
During a discussion on gun control, Kamala’s ticketmate apparently fumbled his response, though he did not stumble or attempt to correct himself.
“I sat in that office with those Sandy Hook parents. I’ve become friends with school shooters. I’ve seen it,” Walz said.
Many Republican lawmakers reposted the quote, and the father of a Parkland school shooting victim condemned Walz strongly on X.
“My daughter was killed in the Parkland school shooting,” Andrew Pollack posted. “It’s absolutely abhorrent that Tim Walz has befriended school shooters. Disqualifying.”
Former President Donald Trump and his campaign also jumped on the gaffe quickly.
The Trump War Room X account posted a video clip of the moment, while Trump himself posted a satirical Trump/Vance yard sign that reads “*not friends with school shooters*.”
During his live posting of the debate on Truth Social, Trump accused Walz of making the remark twice, questioning his sanity.
Walz said his opinion has changed on gun control, saying the United States should look to Finland for guidance.
“They don’t have this happen,” Walz said. “Even though they have a high gun-ownership rate in the country, there are reasonable things that we can do to make a difference.”
“I appreciate what Tim said, actually, about Finland,” Vance responded, “because I do think it illustrates some of the frankly weird differences between our own country’s gun violence problem and Finland.”
Many of the democrats, just like satan, speak with a silver tongue for satan ,the father of lies, is who they listen to.
All of us mispeak occasionally. We generally don’t relate to crazy child killers as our friends.
