Former Republican Vice President Dick Cheney endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris in the upcoming election and lambasted former President Donald Trump.

Cheney said that Trump is a “threat to our republic” in a X post on Friday.

He also said that Trump was trying to “keep himself in power,” when he challenged the 2020 election results.

“In our nation’s 248-year history, there has never been an individual who is a greater threat to our republic than Donald Trump,” Cheney penned.

“He tried to steal the last election using lies and violence to keep himself in power after the voters had rejected him. He can never be trusted with power again.”

“As citizens, we each have a duty to put country above partisanship to defend our Constitution. That is why I will be casting my vote for Vice President Kamala Harris,” President George W. Bush’s former Vice President concluded.

Trump clapped back in a Friday night Truth Social post that labeled Cheney as an “irrelevant RINO.”

“Dick Cheney is an irrelevant RINO, along with his daughter, who lost by the largest margin in the History of Congressional Races!” He wrote.

“They couldn’t get Scooter Libby, who did so much for them (but was so unfairly treated!), PARDONED. I did it!” Trump added.

The former president called Cheney, who directed the United States invasion of Panama and Operation Desert Storm in the Middle East during his tenure as the Secretary of Defense, “the king of endless, nonsensical wars.”

He also accused Cheney, who spearheaded the Iraq War of “wasting lives and trillions of dollars, just like Comrade Kamala Harris.”

“I am the Peace President, and only I will stop World War III!” Trump added.

The former Vice President’s decision to back Harris follows his daughter Liz Cheney’s endorsement on Wednesday.

Cheney reportedly announced her Harris support during a speech at Duke University.

“I think it is crucially important for people to recognize, not only is what I just said about the danger that Trump poses something that should prevent people from voting for him, but I don’t believe that we have the luxury of writing in candidates’ names, particularly in swing states,” Cheney remarked.

“And as a conservative, as someone who believes in and cares about the Constitution, I have thought deeply about this, and because of the danger that Donald Trump poses, not only am I not voting for Donald Trump, but I will be voting for Kamala Harris,” she added.

Cheney was booted from her leadership position in Congress after she became one of the few Republicans who voted to impeach Trump in 2021.

She was censured by the Wyoming Republican Party and lost her seat in the 2022 Republican primary.

Trump further criticized her in his Friday night post.

“What Liz Cheney did with the Unselect Committee of Political Losers is unthinkable,” he wrote.

“She and her Unselects deleted and destroyed all evidence and information – IT’S GONE.”

“Much of it proved that Nancy Pelosi was responsible for J6 – DIDN’T PROVIDE SECURITY,” Trump added.

“Cheney and the others should be prosecuted for what they did, but Comrade Kamala is even worse!”

  1. Why give so much credibility and importance to a failed politico who has been rejected by her former supporters. Cheney, Romney etc no longer have support of their people they serve only to destroy and undermine the Republican party

    • The only true dangers to America are people like Lizzie Cheney and her Daddy – THEY are the America-haters who stomp their feet and pound sand whenever they don’t get their way!! Go pound sand on the children’s playground — that’s where temperamental children play, Lizzie and Dick!!

  2. Nobody but the media cares what a Cheny says and does…they are irrelevant. The media is just looking for anything they can find to prop up Harris, and be against Trump. It just confirms who Cheny and his daughter really are!!

  3. Cheney has proven over and over that he is irrelevant. Don’t forget to thank him for thousands of lost lives in Iraq and Afghanistan .
