A pro-life organization has lodged a complaint with the IRS, claiming that Planned Parenthood’s use of a mobile clinic offering free abortion services near the Democratic National Convention breaches its nonprofit status.
Planned Parenthood Great Rivers of St. Louis provided free abortion medication and vasectomies from a mobile health clinic stationed in Chicago next to the convention.
The branch said it snipped nine men for vasectomies and performed eight medication-induced abortions over two days in a statement.
They noted that media reports indicating that the clinic had performed 20-30 patients referred to available time slots, not actual patient counts.
Women receiving abortion pills from the mobile clinic were allowed to take them either on-site or at home, as per Illinois law.

Dr. Colleen McNicholas, the chief medical officer at Planned Parenthood Great Rivers, administered the services at the DNC’s mobile clinic.
“We’re just really excited to provide the opportunity for the thousands of folks who are coming to Illinois to demonstrate for them that it is possible to start closing some healthcare gaps for folks,” McNicholas told NPR.
Meanwhile, pro-life group 40 Days for Life filed an IRS complaint against the organization, accusing the Planned Parenthood branch of violating their tax-exempt status.
“Targeting political parties and candidates with free abortions and other in-kind gifts is strictly prohibited by the IRS — a basic rule that every nonprofit understands,” CEO Shawn Carney commented to Fox News. “Planned Parenthood’s recklessness on such a public stage is astounding.”
“Alongside the filing is — what a dark and somewhat goofy message that the DNC is sending, that abortion will be a priority, not in philosophy or policy, but in action, that we’re going to do abortions as part of our convention, and brag about it,” he added.
“We have never seen a political party, or frankly, a candidate, celebrate abortion as the No. 1 issue.”
The filing states that the actions of the branch “openly advertise and provide free services from not-for-profit entities to participants of and in direct relation to a nationwide political rally for one party and certain political candidates.”
The complaint accuses that Planned Parenthood’s actions essentially endorse “certain party, platform, and candidates,” which is a breach of their status as a nonprofit organization.

In addition to the mobile abortions and vasectomies, protesters dressed as abortion pills marched outside the event, with a 20-foot tall inflatable intrauterine device (IUD) was erected close to the convention.
Video footage posted on social media revealed protesters wearing in white inflatables shaped like abortion pills with the words “MIFE” and “MISO” written on them.
“MIFE” stands for mifepristone, one of two medications used to perform a medical abortion.
“MISO” is short for misoprostol, the other medication used to induce a medical abortion, according to Planned Parenthood’s website.
The display, named “Freeda Womb,” belongs to INTO ACTION 2024, described as a “large-scale, pop-up, non-partisan festival of arts, culture, and voting power.”
“Freeda Womb” made its debut at Union Station in D.C. on June 5, 2024, when Congress was voting on the “Right to Contraception Act,” a bill rejected by Republicans, and has traveled around the country ever since.
Americans for Contraception said on their website that Freeda Womb “empowers people to live their life however they want.”
“She exists to remind people that their body and their choices are their own — no kids, no kids yet, no more kids, no period pain — doesn’t matter to her what your reason is,” the website states.
Typically medical treatment facilities operate under a certificate of need issues by the government. I’m not sure if that applied to a mobile clinic or if some other authorization was issued. But, medical providers are credentialed by the state to conduct the procedures they perform. I wonder if the providers working at that mobile clinic are properly credentialled or if it has been monitored by the Chicago Public Health Department or some other entity to ensure they maintain hygiene and standards of care that protect patients.
As I have said before, the DNC and their flowers are full of a sick, sick people.
