The FBI announced on Friday that a bullet had indeed hit former President Donald Trump’s ear during the July 13 assassination attempt at his campaign rally in Pennsylvania.

The statement directly contrasts FBI Director Christopher Wray’s suggestion to Congress that Trump’s injury could have been caused by shrapnel.

In a statement, the FBI clarified, “What struck former President Trump in the ear was a bullet, whether whole or fragmented into smaller pieces, fired from the deceased subject’s rifle.”

This clarification followed Wray’s recent testimony to House lawmakers, where he stated, “There’s some question about whether or not it’s a bullet or shrapnel that, you know, hit his ear.”

These remarks drew significant backlash from Republican lawmakers and Trump himself.

Rep. Ronny Jackson (R-TX), Trump’s doctor during his presidency, criticized Wray in an open letter posted on social media.

Jackson noted that Trump’s medical records and his examination of the Republican nominee confirmed that a bullet had struck his ear at the rally.

Jackson wrote, “The would-be assassin fired multiple rounds from a relatively close distance using a high-powered rifle, with one bullet striking the former President, and now the Republican Nominee for President, in his right ear.”

Jackson refuted Wray’s claim that Trump could have been hit by shrapnel or glass in his letter, stating, “There is absolutely no evidence that it was anything other than a bullet.”

“Congress should correct the record as confirmed by both the hospital and myself,” he added. “Director Wray is wrong and inappropriate to suggest anything else.”

Providing an update on Trump’s health, Jackson said, “I want to reassure the American people and the rest of the world that President Trump is doing extremely well.”

He is rapidly recovering from the gunshot wound to his right ear,” the letter concluded. “I will continue to assist President Trump and his personal physician as needed and provide updates with President Trump’s permission.”

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC), Ranking Member on the Senate Judiciary Committee, also addressed Wray in a separate letter, urging him to correct his statement about the shooting.

On Friday, Graham pointed out that official government briefings clearly indicated that Trump was hit by a bullet, arguing that this “should not be a point of contention.”

“I urge you to immediately correct your statement and acknowledge that President Trump was hit by a bullet rather than glass or shrapnel,” he wrote to Wray.

“As head of the FBI, you should not be creating confusion about such matters, as it further undercuts the agency’s credibility with millions of Americans. Please correct this statement immediately.”

Trump also called out the FBI director on Thursday, accusing him of mishandling the FBI, in Truth Social post.

“FBI Director Christopher Wray told Congress yesterday that he wasn’t sure if I was hit by shrapnel, glass, or a bullet (the FBI never even checked!), but he was sure that Crooked Joe Biden was physically and cognitively ‘uneventful’ – Wrong!” Trump wrote in a lengthy rebuke.

“That’s why he knows nothing about the terrorists and other criminals pouring into our Country at record levels,” he continued.

“His only focus is destroying J6 Patriots, Raiding Mar-a-Lago, and saving Radical Left Lunatics, like the ones now in D.C. burning American flags and spray painting over our great National Monuments – with zero retribution,” Trump concluded.

  1. FBI Director Wray possesses an uncommon capacity to isolate unquestionable truths from reality. In terms of facts and opinions in general, he seems to be quite dominating. In fact, I believe he is wrestling with words to make himself more confident.

  2. Wray was playing the typical slimeball, chickenshit, misinformation game the FBI has become known for. Can’t wait until he is fired.

  3. What is wrong with these people? Surely they must realize that when making statements such as the one Wray made will be fact checked. Then they will look like bigger idiots than they normally do. What a bunch of morons we have running our country. Unbelievable.
