Ronna Finds Herself on the Losing End of Two-Front War

1 min read

Days after being hired at NBC, former RNC chair Ronna McDaniel has been ousted by the left and further degraded by the right.

After intense backlash from liberal talents on the network, NBCU News Group Chair Cesar Conde announced they would separate from McDaniel. She had made just one appearance over the weekend.

“No organization, particularly a newsroom, can succeed unless it is cohesive and aligned,” Conde wrote. “Over the last few days, it has become clear that this appointment undermines that goal.”

Former “Meet The Press” host Chuck Todd accused McDaniel of “gaslighting” journalists during her time with the RNC and said she had too many “credibility issues” to be taken seriously on the air.

Rachel Maddow called the decision to hire McDaniel “inexplicable” and called on the network to fire her immediately.

“Take a minute, acknowledge that maybe it wasn’t the right call,” Maddow said. “It is a sign of strength, not weakness, to acknowledge when you are wrong. And our country needs us to be strong right now.”

Despite reportedly unanimous support among leadership at the network for McDaniel’s hiring, Conde apologized in his announcement.

“I want to personally apologize to our team members who felt we let them down,” Conde wrote in the memo. “While this was a collective recommendation by some members of our leadership team, I approved it and take full responsibility for it.”

He said that, while the decision to bring McDaniel on “was made because of our deep commitment to presenting our audiences with a widely diverse set of viewpoints and experiences”, she would no longer appear on the network.

Trump Weighs In

Former President Donald Trump appeared to both mock and lament the position McDaniel now finds herself in.

“Wow! Ronna McDaniel got fired by Fake News NBC. She only lasted two days, and this after McDaniel went out of her way to say what they wanted to hear,” Trump wrote on Truth Social. “It leaves her in a very strange place, it’s called NEVER NEVERLAND, and it’s not a place you want to be.”

McDaniel is reportedly now pursuing legal options against the network should it terminate her contract, which was set to pay over six figures annually.
