Chaos unfolded in the House chamber Wednesday after Rep. Lauren Boebert, R-Colo., requested an audible prayer for Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk, who had been shot dead during a campus event in Utah.
The response from Democrats sparked outrage and fiery exchanges across the aisle.
Kirk, 31, was gunned down while speaking at Utah Valley University, leaving behind his wife and two young children.
On the floor, House Speaker Mike Johnson asked Boebert to state her purpose. As she rose, murmurs broke out, prompting Johnson to quiet the chamber.
An unbelievable moment on the House floor.

Boebert then asked lawmakers to join her in a spoken prayer for Kirk. The reaction from Democrats was immediate, with several shouting back, “No!”
Boebert sniped back with, “Silent prayers get silent results.” Her comment sent the room into further disorder as Johnson again tried to gavel the chamber to order.
Republican Rep. Anna Paulina Luna of Florida then yelled at Democrats, shouting, “Y’all caused this!” followed by an expletive-laced outburst.
Johnson pleaded for calm, repeating, “The House will be in order,” as tensions mounted.
Johnson eventually told Boebert that prayer would occur after the floor session, though several Democrats reportedly shouted about a separate school shooting in Colorado that same day.
Four students were wounded when a gunman opened fire at Evergreen High School. Three remained in critical condition Wednesday afternoon.

On Fox News Channel’s “Ingraham Angle,” Sen. Bernie Moreno, R-Ohio, accused the left of waging war against conservatives. “Republicans and conservatives are being hunted,” he said.
Moreno recalled first meeting Kirk when he was young and full of ideas. “He had this big idea that he’s going to transform young people, make them engage in the future of this country. And I got the opportunity to see him grow this little idea into this incredible organization.”

“This is a political assassination,” he continued. “This was a lunatic hunted because of his views, because of his willingness to share his opinions, which is what the left fears more than anything else, because they have no opinions.”
Former FBI special agent Stuart Kaplan echoed that suspicion, telling Jesse Watters on Fox that Kirk’s killing bore the hallmarks of a “professional hit.”
Kaplan described the attack as “very well-planned,” noting the shooter appeared to have positioned himself on a rooftop.

“This assassination of Charlie Kirk, to me, is indicative of a professional hit, and I’m not so sure that we are going to quickly be able to apprehend this individual without some luck, hopefully,” he said.
He suggested the sniper had scoped out the venue long before the crowd arrived.
“There was no indication that anybody saw him up on this rooftop. Obviously, after that one single shot was taken, he was able to very quietly and systematically elude any further detection and escape.”
Authorities initially detained two men, 71-year-old George Zinn and Zachariah Qureshi, but both were released without charges.
In a statement, the FBI and Utah Department of Public Safety said neither individual had ties to the shooting.
FBI Director Patel later wrote on X that the investigation was ongoing and information would be released “in interest of transparency.”
President Donald Trump released a video blaming the “radical left” for Kirk’s death.
“For years, those on the radical left have compared wonderful Americans like Charlie to Nazis and the world’s worst mass murderers and criminals,” Trump said.
“This kind of rhetoric is directly responsible for the terrorism that we’re seeing in our country today, and it must stop right now.”

Trump called on “all Americans and the media” to recognize that violence was the “tragic consequence of demonizing those with whom you disagree,” and specifically cited “radical-left political violence.”
Democrats rejected that argument the same day. Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., lashed out at Trump outside the Capitol, calling him “the leader of an insurrection.”
“Why don’t you start with the President of the United States and every ugly meme he has posted and every ugly word,” she said.

Warren criticized Trump for sharing violent imagery online and portraying himself as a strongman.
“Then I don’t want to hear this from the Republicans,” she told reporters.
Sen. Chris Murphy, D-Conn., added on MSNBC’s “All In with Chris Hayes” that Trump had fostered a culture of violence.
“I’m certainly thinking about the quickening pace of political violence in this country,” Murphy said.
He listed the “murder of state legislators in Minnesota, attempted assassinations of the president of the United States” and pointed to January 6 as still vivid in memory.
“The fact of the matter is the shots are being fired,” Murphy warned, arguing Trump “needs to answer” for the growing threat.
Utah Gov. Spencer Cox called Kirk’s assassination “a political assassination” and delivered a stern warning.
“I want to make it crystal clear right now to whoever did this: We will find you. We will try you. And we would hold you accountable to the furthest extent of the law,” Cox declared.
“And I just want to remind people that we still have the death penalty here in the state of Utah.”
ALL Dems hate Kirk etc & we MAGA
SR – well ‘maybe’ not quite ‘all’ but I bet I don’t have to take off my socks to count those who don’t ‘hate’……………………
This is a spiritual battle, all dems have is hate and lies…like their father, satan.
But, They can’t stand in the presence of God, and it’s our job to take the spiritual fight to them.
