Representative Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) declared on that if Democrats reclaim control of the House in the 2026 midterm elections, they will initiate a series of investigations targeting President Donald Trump and his business dealings.

During and interview with MSNBC’s “Alex Witt Reports” this weekend, host Alex Witt posed a question about the future of congressional oversight if Democrats take the House or Senate in 2026.

She asked whether investigations into Trump’s family and his cryptocurrency ventures would be pursued.

“Listen, so long as we end up taking the House, which I fully anticipate that we will do, and we are going to work hard to obviously help our senate colleagues as well,” Crockett replied.

She also declared her ambition to take over leadership of the House Oversight Committee, a post that became vacant following the passing of Rep. Gerry Connolly.

Crockett currently serves on the committee and indicated she would prioritize thorough investigations.

“I can guarantee you that we will do what we are supposed to do as constitutionally sworn members of the House, which means that we will conduct oversight.”

She outlined several areas she would like to probe, including allegations involving a jet from Qatar, real estate projects, and a cryptocurrency meeting linked to Trump’s circle.

“That means that we will investigate,” Crockett said. “Think about how much money they are raking, raking in, whether we’re talking about the next golf resort that they’re setting up in Qatar or whether we’re talking about them leveling Gaza, as they’ve talked about and talked about how it would be great beachfront property, whether we’re talking about this crypto scam, the scam that people didn’t even want to walk into and show their faces.”

“Let me tell you, there is no shortage of things for us to dig into and determine whether or not there have been not only violations of the law, but definitely violations of our Constitution as a whole,” she ranted.

Later in the interview, Crockett took a jab at President Trump’s weekend commencement speech at West Point, during which he likened his legal troubles to those of infamous gangster Al Capone and made off-the-cuff comments about trophy wives and drag shows.

“I am tired of it,” Crockett said in response. “I mean, he literally sounds like someone who is broken out of the insane asylum. Like, he just be all over the place.”

“Like, get him some ADHD medicine, if nothing else, because I don’t know where he’s ever going to go,” she went on.

“What a great reminder that you are not qualified to be the person that potentially will command us as troops to go into war,” Crockett blasted.

“And honestly, our troops deserve better. Our graduates deserve better. We as a country deserve better.”

She went on to urge Republicans to reconsider their support for Trump, casting doubt on his mental condition.

“We know when it comes down to his criminality, he is not qualified to serve,” she observed. “But this is just absolutely deplorable.”

The discussion also turned international when Witt brought up Kristi Noem, Secretary of Homeland Security, and her recent visit to Israel. Noem was photographed at the Western Wall in Jerusalem over the weekend.

Witt speculated whether the trip might relate to serious diplomatic matters, including last week’s shooting of two Israeli embassy staffers or Trump’s posturing on Iran.

“Yeah, you went over all of the kind of sane things that this could be about,” Crockett replied.

“But I have found a lack of sanity from this administration. I have found them to be more decisive when it comes to making sure that they’ve got a good photo op.”

Crockett’s doesn’t believe that that Noem will even have a conversation about the the young couple that was gunned down at the Israeli embassy last week.

“I doubt it is anything of substance,” she alleged. “You just had a good photo op, and I think that that’s probably all Kristi Noem is good for is a photo op.”

Crockett’s comments followed praise from Democratic National Committee Vice Chair David Hogg, who appeared Friday on “The Breakfast Club” radio show.

Hogg applauded Crockett during a conversation about internal debates over restructuring the Democratic Party.

“I think Jasmine is, frankly, the type of leader that we’re really looking to support in some senses, right? Somebody who is out there that, frankly, doesn’t give a damn what the other side — at least the elected Republicans in Congress say,” Hogg said, pointing to what he described as her “authenticity.”

“They say what they believe in and at least, you know, even if you don’t agree with her, you know what she stands for, because she makes it very clear,” he continued. “And people are really craving that right now.”

  1. Let’s make this clear. If the Democrats retake the House, all resources will be spent on investigating President Trump. Democrats/RINO’s, listen up. This tells me they will not spend one minute trying to make America better.
