Former Vice President Kamala Harris is reportedly giving herself until the end of the summer to make a decision about running for governor of California.
During exclusive gatherings and phone calls, Harris has been signaling her determination to remain politically active, telling her supporters, “I am staying in this fight,” Politico reports.
This comes on the heels of her unsuccessful presidential run and her efforts to assess her long-term political trajectory.
Over the past weekend, during a pre-Oscars event, Harris reportedly told another attendee that her decision would be finalized by summer’s end. Two sources corroborated the story to Politico.
A potential Harris bid for California governor would not only reshape the state’s Democratic field but could also possibly rule out any 2028 presidential aspirations for Harris.
Harris continues to maintain a robust presence in national polls gauging support for potential candidates in the upcoming California gubernatorial elections.
She has sustained her political network through her newest initiative, Pioneer49, which has several senior advisers still actively engaged.
The anticipation surrounding a Harris candidacy has already shaken up the Democratic field, with prominent contenders reconsidering their options.
State Attorney General Rob Bonta has already pivoted, opting to seek reelection rather than explore a gubernatorial campaign.
Bonta openly expressed his support, stating, “I hope she does. I have already raised my hand to endorse her, if she does.”
He added, “Her name recognition, her favorables, her ability to run a successful campaign would have the impact of clearing the field on the Democratic side.”
Other potential Democratic candidates are also stepping cautiously. Former Democratic Representative Katie Porter and Lieutenant Governor Eleni Kounalakis are unlikely to launch campaigns if Harris formally enters the race.
However, former Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa remains a wildcard. Despite reservations amongst some of his inner circle regarding his chances against Harris, Villaraigosa has hinted at the possibility of staying in the race.
Harris’s timing is significant with California Governor Gavin Newsom wrapping up his final term due to term limits.
The state’s next gubernatorial election, slated for 2026, promises to be a pivotal moment in California politics.
At the same time, Newsom’s political future remains a topic of speculation, particularly his ambitions for a potential 2028 presidential campaign.
Recently, Newsom made waves with his stance on transgender athletes during a conversation on a podcast with conservative activist Charlie Kirk.
Newsom, known for aligning with Democratic orthodoxy, surprised listeners by breaking with the party on this issue.
Will Governor Gavin Newsom EVER say “No Men in Women’s Sports?”

When pressed by Kirk about fairness in sports, Newsom remarked, “I think it’s an issue of fairness; I completely agree with you on that. It is an issue of fairness—it’s deeply unfair.” He further stated, “I am not wrestling with the fairness issue. I totally agree with you.”
The discussion didn’t stop there. Kirk highlighted polling data showing widespread opposition among the American public toward transgender athletes competing in women’s sports.
Newsom acknowledged, “The Democrats are getting crushed on this issue,” an admission that stunned many observers familiar with his typically progressive rhetoric.
However, Newsom sought to balance his remarks by expressing empathy for transgender individuals.
He maintained, “That’s easy to call out, the unfairness of that. There’s also a humility and a grace. These poor people are more likely to commit suicide [through] anxiety and depression.”
While noting the complexities of the matter, Newsom also addressed the societal treatment of marginalized communities, adding, “The way that people talk down to vulnerable communities is an issue that I have a hard time with as well. Both things I can hold in my hand.”
BOY YOU THINK CALIFORNIA IS FUCKED UP NOW, JUST WAIT UNTIL THINK COMMIE BITCH IS GOVERNOR. WE’LL HAVE TO BUILD A WALL AROUND CALIFORNIA AND CHECK PASSPORTS WHEN THEY ENTER THE UNITED STATES.
What will probably happen if the babbling idiot Harris does run for Governor of California, the dimwitted citizens will vote her in.
Nothing else for her to do. She’s not qualified for any productive real job.
Just keep sneaking in the back door of the Pubs, Bars, Wineries, or any other place you get hammered at. Just stay the (Satan’s home) out of California, or politics in general. Do ALL of us a favor.
