Trump Announces ‘Top Terrorist’ Capture

1 min read

President Donald Trump revealed the US had apprehended a high-ranking terrorist responsible for the deadly 2021 Kabul airport bombing.

The attack killed 13 American service members and at least 170 Afghan civilians during Biden’s disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan.

“Tonight, I am pleased to announce that we have just apprehended the top terrorist responsible for that atrocity, and he is right now on his way here to face the swift sword of American justice,” Trump declared during his joint address to Congress, drawing thunderous applause.

While Trump did not reveal the suspect’s name, CNN reported that Mohammad Sharifullah, a key figure in planning the suicide bombing at Abbey Gate, is currently being transported to the U.S. to face charges. A source told CNN that Sharifullah is accused of providing and conspiring to provide material support for terrorism.

Trump expressed gratitude to Pakistan for its role in capturing the terrorist, confirming that the country acted on intelligence provided by the CIA.

“I thank Pakistan for helping arrest this monster,” Trump said, reinforcing his administration’s commitment to bringing justice to those responsible for harming Americans.

FBI Director Kash Patel confirmed the news shortly after Trump’s speech, posting on X:

“The FBI, DOJ, and CIA have extradited one of the terrorists responsible for the murder of the 13 American soldiers at Abbey Gate during the disastrous Afghanistan withdrawal. One step closer to justice for these American heroes and their families.”

Attorney General Pam Bondi echoed this statement, emphasizing that the DOJ, FBI, and CIA were committed to holding those who harm Americans accountable.

“We will continue to bring those who harm Americans to swift and decisive justice,” Bondi posted on X.

Sharifullah’s Ties to ISIS-K and Role in the Attack

According to an indictment unsealed Tuesday in the Eastern District of Virginia, Sharifullah has been charged with providing and conspiring to provide material support to ISIS-K, a designated foreign terrorist organization, resulting in death.

Court documents reveal that Sharifullah joined ISIS-K in 2016 and admitted to supporting and conducting activities on behalf of the group, assisting in multiple lethal attacks. His role in the Abbey Gate bombing was crucial—he scouted a route near Hamid Karzai International Airport, conducted surveillance, and checked for law enforcement and American or Taliban checkpoints along the way.

  1. His punishment should be to cover him with pig blood and then behead him. That is the ultimate humiliation for these stinking animals.
