Musk Wildly Wields Chainsaw at CPAC

1 min read

Elon Musk electrified the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) on Thursday evening with a surprise appearance that made headlines before he even spoke.

The billionaire entrepreneur, who has become a central figure in President Trump’s push to slash wasteful government spending, took the stage wielding a chainsaw—symbolizing his aggressive approach to cutting bureaucracy.

Musk’s entrance was set up by Argentine President Javier Milei, a fellow outsider known for his bold economic policies, who handed the Tesla CEO the chainsaw as the crowd erupted in cheers.

“This is the chainsaw for bureaucracy!” Musk shouted, raising the saw in the air as the audience roared in approval.

The dramatic moment underscored Musk’s ongoing commitment to Trump’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), a sweeping initiative aimed at eliminating bloated federal agencies and wasteful spending.

Despite legal challenges from Democrats and disgruntled federal employees, Musk made it clear that he has no intention of slowing down.

DOGE and the Dividend

During his discussion with Newsmax’s Rob Schmitt, Musk addressed the latest development in DOGE’s mission: the idea of using savings from government spending cuts to issue direct payments to American citizens.

Trump recently hinted that his administration is considering a “DOGE Dividend”, an idea first floated by an Arizona CEO on Musk’s social media platform X.

The plan would redistribute money saved from cutting wasteful programs to hardworking Americans, rather than allowing it to be funneled into ineffective federal bureaucracies.

“It’s money—that’s taken away from things that are disruptive to the country and from organizations that hate you—to you,” Musk explained. “That’s awesome. I mean like that’s glorious.”

Musk revealed that the idea has “traction” and that he personally spoke with President Trump, who is “supportive” of the plan.

“A Meat Grinder for Money”

Musk also weighed in on the ongoing Russia-Ukraine conflict, strongly criticizing those who have prolonged the war for financial and political gain.

“Well, first of all, I think we should have empathy for the people dying at the front lines. That’s the most important thing,” Musk said.

“It’s like, how many more years is this supposed to go on?” he continued. “And imagine if that was your son, your father—you know, what are they dying for? What exactly are they dying for?”

Musk did not hold back in his assessment of the situation, suggesting that the war is being driven by financial interests rather than genuine national security concerns. “People are being sent into a meat grinder for money,” he said, alleging corruption and bribery are keeping the conflict alive.

He defended Trump’s approach to handling the war, arguing that the president’s critics misunderstand his motives. “He has a lot of empathy. He really cares,” Musk said of Trump.
