A contentious debate has erupted on Capitol Hill following a Republican proposal to restrict the first transgender member of Congress from accessing women’s restrooms within the U.S. Capitol.
Representative Nancy Mace (R-SC) has proposed this measure targeting Congresswoman-elect Sarah McBride, who is the first openly transgender legislator in the U.S.
McBride criticized the proposal, accusing Republicans of diverting attention away from substantive issues.
“This is a blatant attempt from far right-wing extremists to distract from the fact that they have no real solutions to what Americans are facing,” McBride asserted. “We should be focused on bringing down the cost of housing, health care, and child care, not manufacturing culture wars.”
Mace defended her proposal on Elon Musk’s social media platform X, stating, “Never thought this would have to happen, but we are introducing a resolution banning biological men from entering protected spaces for women on Capitol grounds.”
“Protecting biological women starts here,” she added. “Playing make-believe dress-up doesn’t mean you should be allowed in women’s private spaces.”
Rep. Nancy Mace says transgender Rep. Sarah McBride shouldn’t be allowed to use the women’s bathroom on Capitol Hill:

The legislation introduced by Mace mandates that “members, officers, and employees of the House” use facilities aligning with their biological sex.
The bill underscores that “allowing biological males into single-sex facilities, such as restrooms, locker rooms, and changing rooms designed for women, jeopardizes the safety and dignity of Members, officers, and employees of the House who are female.”
The responsibility for enforcing this restriction would fall to the Sergeant-at-Arms of the House of Representatives.
Mace commented to reporters on Monday that, “Sarah McBride doesn’t get a say in this. If you’re a biological man, you shouldn’t be in women’s restrooms.”
Meanwhile, Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker, a Democrat, has pledged his support to the transgender community, reportedly joining efforts to strengthen protections after President-elect Donald Trump’s landslide victory.
“This Transgender Awareness Week, I want you to know that I see you and have your back as governor,” Pritzker tweeted.
“Illinois has enshrined protections for gender-affirming care to meet this moment—and because of that, you will have a home here always.”
Public opinion appears to be shifting on transgender issues, as highlighted by a new poll indicating a growing number of Americans believe it should be illegal for minors to receive transgender surgeries or comparable medical treatments.
According to the Napolitan News Service survey, nearly 75% of Americans advocate against providing children with puberty blockers, other medications, or surgical procedures for gender transition, a notable increase from 62% in August.
Additionally, the poll revealed that 75% of Americans oppose allowing biological males identifying as females to access women’s locker rooms, showers, and restrooms.
Almost 60% expressed concerns that permitting biological males who identify as women to use women’s shelters for sexual assault and domestic violence would increase risk and trauma for the women residing there.
Furthermore, nearly 70% of respondents opposed teaching lessons on exploring or altering gender identity within public schools.
Notably, 73% of Americans believe schools should be required to inform parents if a student wishes to change their gender, name, or pronouns.
If this “Sarah” McBride person still has male genitalia, he is a male, period, and must not be allowed into a female bathroom, locker room, etc. If he does not have male genitalia, he still isn’t a female, but then he could be allowed to use the bathroom, etc., as he would no longer pose a sexual threat to females.
It doesn’t matter if he has his genitalia or not, it goes down to the DNA.
If he no longer has a penis, he has to use a colestemy bag, and doesn’t need the restroom at all.
“McBride asserted “We should [not] be focused on … manufacturing culture wars.””
Too f’ing bad! You communist denoncRATS do the same thing all the time. What goes around, comes around.
Mr. McBride is the one who started a “culture war” with his demonic behavior. He has no business whatsoever in a woman’s space, especially the restrooms. He can ply make believe all he wants, but it doesn’t change his DNA.
Exactly, Mr. McBride needs to stay in his own lane. Americans spoke and the leftists still aren’t listening. Back in the day they were called cross-dressers and a few other things. Today they are no better, but lie and say they have ‘rights’ to infringe their disgust on others.
Does CongressCreature McBride have a Y chromosome?
Artificial “gender reassignment” IS A “substantive issue” since it is a mental condition not a physical condition. Chromesomes cannot be altered after birth no matter how hard you try.
There are a few individuals with mutations but the great bulk of trannies are either 1.mentally ill, and actually believe they are the opposite gender,
2. perverts looking for proximity to victims, or
3.just playing dress-up, because it’s trendy.
