Trump’s Cabinet Starts to Shape Up

2 mins read

In anticipation of his second term starting this January, President-elect Donald Trump’s transition team has moved swiftly to evaluate candidates for critical roles within the administration.

Trump’s team is eyeing close allies for appointments in Cabinet and key advisory positions, solidifying the President-elect’s aim to bring a more assertive and action-oriented approach to Washington.

Transition co-chairs Linda McMahon and Howard Lutnick emphasized the administration’s priorities in a recent statement:

“As he chooses the best people to join his team and the best policies to pursue, his transition team will ensure the implementation of President Trump’s common-sense agenda starting on Day 1.” The selections are expected to reflect Trump’s values, prioritizing efficient government, reduced regulation, and America-first policies.

Here are some leading contenders for key positions.

Elon Musk

Elon Musk, the high-profile CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, emerged as one of Trump’s most ardent supporters this election cycle.

Musk is anticipated to have significant influence in the next administration, although he’s not expected to take on a formal Cabinet position.

Musk has voiced interest in helping the administration reduce excessive government spending. His influence may extend across major policy areas, such as technology regulation, electric vehicles, and immigration.

Robert F. Kennedy Jr.

Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who brings an outsider’s perspective on public health and government regulation, is expected to oversee a broad array of responsibilities under a “czar-type” role focused on health and food policy.

Kennedy has advocated for significant changes in public health administration, including a federal stance on fluoride in drinking water and an overhaul of the FDA.

While Kennedy’s views have stirred controversy, Trump has welcomed his bold health proposals.

Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.)

Senator Marco Rubio is reportedly in contention for Secretary of State.

With his foreign policy experience on the Senate Foreign Relations and Intelligence Committees, Rubio brings a global perspective that could help bolster Trump’s America-first diplomatic approach.

Rubio’s easy path to Senate confirmation make him a strong candidate for the role, but Trump’s core supporters are skeptical.

RFK Jr. reportedly said he would push for someone “less neocon.”

North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum

Trump has hinted that North Dakota Governor Doug Burgum may be tapped to lead the Department of Energy, praising him for his deep knowledge of energy policy.

Known for advocating energy independence and efficient energy production, Burgum aligns with Trump’s priorities of boosting American energy while reducing reliance on foreign resources.

Trump’s previous reference to Burgum as “Mr. Secretary” further underscores his confidence in the governor’s ability to lead on energy issues that directly impact the nation’s economic security.

Sen. Eric Schmitt (R-Mo.)

Missouri Senator Eric Schmitt is a frontrunner for Attorney General, a position Trump considers essential for his administration’s vision of justice and law enforcement reform.

Schmitt’s background as Missouri’s Attorney General and his support for Trump during debates signal his unwavering loyalty—a quality Trump highly values.

Unlike his former attorney generals, Schmitt’s alignment with Trump’s stance on federal investigations and his intent to realign the Department of Justice with conservative values make him a natural choice.

  1. Tulsa in charge 9f Veterans Affairs?
Will those Senators be replaced by CONSERVATIVE Senators? Will there be special elections to replace them, or are they all Governor appointments?

  2. Three RINO’s for cabinet positions. Other than Musk, seems Trump did not learn a damn thing from his first term appointing a group of back stabbing RINOs. Disappointing.
