Democrat Panic Becomes Public As Election Nears

1 min read

As the 2024 presidential election approaches, tensions are bubbling in Democratic ranks over who would bear the blame if Vice President Kamala Harris falls short.

Despite outward optimism from some Democratic strategists, private frustrations simmer over perceived missteps that have dogged the Harris campaign from the start.

As Election Day approaches, concerns are already circulating about her messaging strategy and the decision to sideline a primary season.

Behind the scenes, Democrats are increasingly vocal about what they see as missteps in Harris’ economic messaging and the lack of a more deliberate campaign rollout.

The absence of a primary contest, with the sudden exit of President Joe Biden from the race, left Harris with little time to differentiate herself.

As one Democratic strategist noted, “We didn’t have a traditional process for this election. People just had to fall in line.”

The pressure has led to anxiety-fueled finger-pointing within the party, with insiders focusing blame on the Harris camp’s decision-making.

A particular point of contention has been Harris’ selection of Minnesota Governor Tim Walz as her running mate over Pennsylvania’s Governor Josh Shapiro.

In Pennsylvania—a critical battleground state—the absence of Shapiro on the ticket has stirred discontent among Democrats who feel Walz lacks the regional appeal necessary to swing voters in the Keystone State.

“[Harris] is going to look real silly for not picking Shapiro,” remarked a former Obama White House aide.

Adding to the strain, President Biden inadvertently complicated matters with an uncharacteristically sharp remark, reportedly likening Trump supporters to “garbage.”

Though the White House quickly issued a clarification, the timing overshadowed what was intended to be a pivotal speech from Harris, delivered with the White House as a backdrop.

While Harris has distanced herself from Biden in recent weeks, focusing instead on appearances with popular Democratic surrogates like former President Obama, her strategic shift has reportedly irked Biden loyalists who feel he should be front and center in the campaign.

According to one Biden supporter, “The reason she’s where she is, is because of him.”

Some Democrats lamented that Biden’s withdrawal from the race in late July didn’t give Harris sufficient time to establish her identity on the national stage.

As whispers within the party suggest, Biden may have done Harris a disservice by waiting so long to step aside.

Whether Harris emerges victorious or faces defeat, both parties are poised for intense introspection and finger-pointing as they come to grips with the outcome of this unprecedented election cycle.

  1. she never had a chance. the dems pulled a coup, and inserted this witch. told dems to like it or else. should have had an open convention. might have won.

  2. Way are they panicking? Do they think that all of the fraud they’ve set up won’t work this time? It usually works.
