Massachusetts Governor Maura Healey defended a false answer Vice President Kamala Harris gave during last week’s debate.
Harris made the false claim that there are currently no military members in active combat zones.
“There is not one member of the United States military who is in active duty in a combat zone in any war zone around the world, the first time this century,” she said.
Despite live fact-checking multiple statements made by former President Donald Trump, none of Harris’ claims or answers were checked.
ABC’s fact-checkers posted after the debate that there are at least 900 US military personnel in Syria and 2,500 US troops in Iraq.
“This Week” host Martha Raddatz also pointed out that “We also have action in the Red Sea,” and followed that “every single day, the Navy SEALs, Delta Forces special operators can be part of any sort of deadly raid.”
“That was a comment in a debate. I think the point that she was trying to make was a broader point,” Healey said.
“I think what’s important here, Martha, is that Kamala Harris in contrast to Donald Trump demonstrated herself to be commander-in-chief.”
Raddatz attempted to follow up, asking, “You say she demonstrated her ability to be commander-in-chief, but did she not know about these people in Syria and Iraq? Why would she say that?”
But Healey deflected, instead accusing Trump of “standing with Vladimir Putin.”
“So, you know, I think that’s what’s really important. Kamala Harris, she respects our military, she respects our service members.”
Healey was one of the first to endorse Harris just a day after President Joe Biden dropped out of the race.
“I am proud to endorse Kamala Harris for President,” she posted on X.
“The future of our country as we know it is on the line. That’s why I am thrilled to support Kamala Harris as she works to earn the Democratic nomination and beat Donald Trump.”
The democrats will cheat to try and win the election like they always do using our tax dollars to sway votes.
And no military personnel died under slow joe’s watch (insert eyeroll).
Those of us who served knew that every day we could be called on to go into a danger zone and put our life on the line, fortunately many (most?) of us never had to.
The really sad part is that there are far too many sheeple that WILL gladly lap up the pablum the dems pour out by the train load simply because ‘orange man bad’.
What’s truth? To a Democrat? It’s whatever gets you elected because the true meaning of politics is being elected.
