Mega Star Formally Endorses Kamala – Does It Matter?

1 min read

Just after the conclusion of Tuesday night’s debate, one of the world’s most influential pop stars formally endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris over former President Donald Trump.

In a post to Instagram, singer Taylor Swift said it was one of Trump’s recent actions on social media that pushed her to make an endorsement.

“Recently I was made aware that AI of ‘me’ falsely endorsing Donald Trump’s presidential run was posted to his site. It really conjured up my fears around AI, and the dangers of spreading misinformation. It brought me to the conclusion that I need to be very transparent about my actual plans for this election as a voter. The simplest way to combat misinformation is with the truth,” she wrote.

“I will be casting my vote for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz in the 2024 Presidential Election.”

Swift’s star power has influenced elections before.

In the late 2010s, she voiced support for Phil Bredesen, who was running against Senator Marsha Blackburn in Tennessee at the time.

Although Bredesen ultimately lost, vote.org credits her for influencing a massive wave of young voter registration and turnout.

Swift’s star power has only grown since then, and her endorsement of Harris could cause problems for Trump in swing states with large populations of her primary fan base: young, white women.

She ended her post by urging her fans to check their voter registration and vote early.

“I’ve done my research, and I’ve made my choice. Your research is all yours to do, and the choice is yours to make. I also want to say, especially to first time voters: Remember that in order to vote, you have to be registered! I also find it’s much easier to vote early. I’ll link where to register and find early voting dates and info in my story.”

In a not-so-subtle jab at Trump’s running mate, Swift signed her message “Childless Cat Lady.”

JD Vance made the now-notorious reference to cat ladies in a Fox News interview in 2021. Democrats have continued to bring it up in an attempt to steer female voters away from Republicans.

  1. Taylor Swift is a lousy singer that being said she has a right to endorse who she wants as long as she is ok with being part of the crowd that brings on WW3 which could involve nukes.

She might make a lot of money singing but she is a dumb as a bucket full of rocks.
