Former President Trump expressed his willingness to consider Tesla and SpaceX CEO, Elon Musk, for a position in his Cabinet if he retakes the White House in the upcoming election.
Trump lauded Musk, calling him a “brilliant guy” adding, “He’s a very smart guy. I certainly would, if he would do it, I certainly would.”
During the discussion, Trump hinted at potentially reversing the $7,500 tax credit available to Americans who purchase electric vehicles.
The Biden administration has been promoting these incentives as part of its broader climate change agenda.

“Tax credits and tax incentives are not generally a very good thing,” he said following a campaign event held in York, Pennsylvania.
Musk responded the same day with late-night tweet that included a photo of himself standing at what appeared to be a podium with acronym “D.O.G.E.,” which apparently stands for the “Department of Government Efficiency.”
“I am willing to serve,” Musk wrote.
Last week, Trump and Musk sat down for a viral two-hour conversation on X, where the world’s richest man expressed his interest in participating in a government role.
He specifically noted his interest in serving on a commission aimed at analyzing national debt and reassessing Congressional spending, though the topic of a Cabinet role was not broached.

“I think it would be great to just have a government efficiency commission that looks at these things to make sure taxpayer money is spent in a good way,” he said at the time. “I’d be happy to help out on such a commission.”
Musk has thrown his support behind Trump in the presidential race, endorsing him immediately after the July 13 assassination attempt and backing a super PAC supporting Trump’s campaign.
At his campaign event in York, Trump accused Vice President Kamala Harris of being aware that the Biden family was accumulating substantial foreign dollars during Joe Biden’s vice presidency.
He referenced a report by House Republicans, which accused Biden of committing impeachable offenses including “abuse of power” and “obstruction of justice or obstruction of Congress,” by allegedly facilitating and concealing a $27 million “influence-peddling racket” dating back to his vice-presidential tenure.
"I have discussed with Donald Trump the idea of a government efficiency commission and I would be willing to be part of that commission."

“Remember, comrade Kamala, she knew everything, and the senators knew what was going on,” Trump remarked.
“There is no way someone could have stolen that much money without Democrat senators knowing what was going on,” he added.
He further alleged that Hunter Biden entertained Democratic senators at Joe Biden’s residences, where they were exposed to his affluent lifestyle.
Trump joked about the financial gains he could have made if he chose to enrich himself further through his political influence, stating, “I would have made billions of dollars in this job if I wanted to play that way,” and asserted, “I don’t need the money … I lost billions of dollars [being president].”

Trump also criticized Vice President Kamala Harris’s nomination as the Democratic presidential candidate, calling it “not fair.”
Trump alleged that the Democratic Party orchestrated “the first-ever ‘Coup’ in America,” in a Truth Social post on Monday.
He said that he’s actually running against two candidates, referring to “Crooked Joe Biden” and Harris, who he described as a “Radical Left Marxist” and “Comrade.”
Trump suggested that the Democrats had arranged Biden’s withdrawal to better their electoral chances, labeling the scenario as “perhaps even another form of Election Interference.”
Meanwhile, former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, who played a pivotal role in Biden stepping down from the presidential race, offered a cryptic response at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago regarding her influence in Biden’s decision.
She remarked, “I have my relationship with the president, and I just wanted to win this election. So if they’re upset, I’m sorry for them. But the country is very happy,” adding, “I don’t know who they are, but you know that’s their problem. Not mine.”
When CNN’s Jake Tapper and Dana Bash questioned her influence on Biden stepping back, Pelosi coldly stated her concern was with his campaign, not the president himself, saying the president “made the decision for the country.”
