Something Changed: Kamala Rises as ‘Major Announcement’ Expected

1 min read

Despite President Joe Biden’s previous insistence he would not step down, something has clearly changed behind the scenes.

High-level Democrat insiders now say they expect the president to make a major announcement about his future sometime after the Republican National Convention ends, possibly as soon as this weekend.

Instead of “if” Biden ends his campaign, the chatter has become “when” and “who” will become Kamala Harris’ running mate, as she is seen as the de facto heir to the party’s ticket.

Strategists say Senator Mark Kelly (D-AZ), Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear, and North Carolina Governor Roy Cooper are all being discussed as options.

California Governor Gavin Newsom and Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer have indicated they would not be interested in running secondary on the ticket, suggesting their intent to wait and eventually launch presidential campaigns of their own in the future.

Democrat Leaders Call for Biden to Step Down

While many lower ranking Democrat officials have issued calls for Biden to end his campaign, in the last few days the political sphere has seen much bigger names come forward.

Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has reportedly been a significant voice, meeting with other leaders and even calling former President Obama.

She relays what she has been hearing to Biden as well as providing polls and hard facts about his slowing fundraising.

A House Democrat said that Pelosi “has the force within the party. If she were to say (drop out) and he didn’t agree, if she were to go public, then that would be tremendously damaging.”

Obama himself is alleged to be involved with the so-called transition to Kamala at the top of the ticket.

“The whole Obama alumni are ready to take over Harris’s campaign and run it. That means Obama is all over this,” a source told CNN.

For his part, Biden continues to deny having second thoughts.

“He is not wavering on anything,” deputy campaign manager Quentin Fulks said in Milwaukee on Thursday.

“Our campaign is moving forward, drawing a vision and a contrast between that of Project of 2025 and what we’ve seen for the past three days here in Milwaukee — the extreme agenda of Republicans — and that’s where our focus is. There are no plans being made to replace President Biden on the ballot and President Biden is cognizant this is a margin of error race.”

Several sources say Monday will be a big day if there is no weekend news, either for an announcement from Biden or for a “bigger push” from lawmakers.

  1. Extreme as compared to what, a communist democrat dictatorship. A major nuclear with China and Russia. The policies will be the same you will just have a woman who turned tricks for Willie Brown and all his drug pedaling buddies in order to be the Attorney General for San Francisco. Do people want to put the lives of children and grandchildren in the hands of this crowd. If yes be prepared to attend their funerals.
