Democrat strategist James Carville said “too many preachy females” are driving key voters away from the Democratic Party.
In an interview with the New York Times‘ Maureen Dowd, Carville said he is concerned with the current culture of the party and its effect on Biden’s support, especially with male voters.
“A suspicion of mine is that there are too many preachy females … ‘Don’t drink beer, don’t watch football, don’t eat hamburgers, this is not good for you,’” he said. “The message is too feminine: ‘Everything you’re doing is destroying the planet. You’ve got to eat your peas.’”
Carville said, as a consequence, the party is not doing enough to address the concern of male voters.
“If you listen to Democratic elites — NPR is my go-to place for that — the whole talk is about how women, and women of color, are going to decide this election. I’m like: ‘Well, 48 percent of the people that vote are males. Do you mind if they have some consideration?” Carville said.
He also pointed to a series of polls showing support for Biden plummeting with minorities.
A Gallup poll last month showed Democrats lead with black voters is down 20 points in the last three years. Hispanic voter support is at its lowest point since 2011.
“When I look at these polling numbers, it’s like walking in on your grandma naked. You can’t get the image out of your mind,” he said.
Despite that, Carville called President Joe Biden “demonstrably the best president that Black America’s ever had, Clinton and Obama included”.
The Biden campaign has launched a series of ads recently to reach minority voters, including an ad where he sits and has a meal of fried chicken with two black teenage boys while they discuss basketball.
The campaign has also recently announced a program to turn out Hispanic voters, which Biden credited for his 2020 victory over former President Donald Trump.

How is this not being called racist?
It is great to hear from most media not connected to the MSM that the votes from young new voters, the Black American community, the Hispanic American community are all leaning toward Trump. The things they point to as most important and the things that Biden has blatantly made worse. I personally have three adult children that moved to my Midwest state from California in the past two years. All are Trump supporters. Makes me very proud that living in California for 20 years didn’t permanently screw up their brains.
