Former President Donald Trump’s name appeared in a batch of newly unsealed court documents related to Jeffrey Epstein.
On Wednesday night, a federal judge unsealed a trove of documents from a lawsuit related to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, who died under mysterious circumstances in jail.
While the documents did not include the much-anticipated list of Epstein’s “clients”, it did reveal new testimony and some names involved in a civil lawsuit against Ghislaine Maxwell, who was sentenced last year to 20 years in prison on sex trafficking and other charges for helping Epstein secure and abuse teenage girls.
The documents stem from a 2015 lawsuit against Maxwell by Virginia Giuffre, an Epstein victim.
Trump’s Name Mentioned
Former President Trump’s name was mentioned in the documents without any accusation of wrongdoing.
In fact, when he was brought up directly, the victim testified that she had not witnessed Trump in various locations associated with Epstein at the time.
Other Notable Figures Named
Former President Bill Clinton was mentioned over 50 times in the documents, though they do not specifically accuse him of any wrongdoing.
In one instance, the person being interviewed said they heard Epstein mention that Clinton “likes them young” in an apparent references to girls.
British Prince Andrew is also repeatedly mentioned, though he has denied any wrongdoing on his part.
Prince Andrew settled a separate lawsuit with Giuffre in 2022 without admitting to illicit activity.
Jean-Luc Brunel, a French modeling agent who was close to Epstein, is also brought up in the documents. Brunel killed himself in jail in 2022 as he awaited trial on charges he abused underaged girls.
More to Come
Around 40 documents were made available to the public on Wednesday, but the batch contains 250 in total which will be released in the coming days.
It is unknown if any of those will include the so-called “client list”.
