Amid June Woke War, Bipartisan Defense of Gays in Uganda

1 min read

A new anti-gay law in Uganda has sparked international outrage, and a surprisingly fierce response from both Democrats and Republicans in Congress.

Despite pressure from world leaders, Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni signed the Anti-Homosexuality Bill into law, making it among the strictest anti-LGBT laws in the world.

The law imposes the death penalty for “aggravated” cases, including gay intercourse with someone below the age of 18 or when one of the people involved is infected with illness such as HIV.

Part of the international concern over the bill is that it could prevent people from seeking healthcare in a country that has historically struggled with HIV and AIDS.

Parliamentary speaker Anita Among defended the bill, saying it would “protest the sanctity of family and marriage”.

“We have stood strong to defend the culture, values and aspirations of our people,” she said in a Twitter statement.

The speaker also told reporters that the US had cancelled a visa issued to her in response to the law’s passage.

US Response is Immediate and Bipartisan

The White House issued a statement calling for the immediate repeal of the law.

“This shameful Act is the latest development in an alarming trend of human rights abuses and corruption in Uganda,” President Joe Biden said in the release.

“And we are considering additional steps, including the application of sanctions and restriction of entry into the United States against anyone involved in serious human rights abuses or corruption,” he added.

The US invests nearly $1 billion annually in Uganda.

Another prominent voice against the law came from Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX).

He tweeted a statement and even included the #LGBTQ hashtag.

“This Uganda law is horrific & wrong. Any law criminalizing homosexuality or imposing the death penalty for “aggravated homosexuality” is grotesque & an abomination. ALL civilized nations should join together in condemning this human rights abuse. #LGBTQ”

Cruz faced criticism from both sides of the aisle for his take on the law.

  1. Stay out of other countries business! The US is a bully! Let them deal with their issues. They are certainly intelligent people who can make their own decisions, despite what the US or any other country says. You don’t like it, go live there and work to change things…but stop butting in to their politics!

    • Or, better yet, if those work do live there do’ like it, let them either work WITHIN THEIR LAWS to change it, or simply move elsewhere. The behaviors and their attached beliefs are LEARNED behavioral disorders; there are no genes or clusters of genes, or any other physical and immutable “ingredients” involved in their make-ups, but “bad input” early in life is known to cause such beliefs as lead to those behaviors. It’s past time some people stood up and said the behaviors are unhealthy, and not acceptable. That said, these are sick children in adult bodies who need therapy to understand were the bad input distorted their beliefs about themselves and produced such unhealthy feelings. What they don’t need is society “feeding” their delusions, and encouraging their continuation; that’s unhealthy for everyone, including the sick children.
Ugandans are largely Christian by belief too, and following Biblical law in this decision. I may not fully agree with the extremity to which they are taking it, but I understand it’s source, and agree with it’s principles. Yhwh God issued certain commands wit respect to our behaviors, and their underlying beliefs, not to be a Bully, but because those beliefs and behaviors are unhealthy for and harmful to humans beings, on all levels: physical, psychological, and spiritual, not only to those holding and practicing them, but all around them as well. He didn’t want us to suffer that needlessly, or the end result thereof. If we really, truly love those suffering such delusions, we will seek to encourage them to get the proper help. For those so vehemently opposed to that, it is not “conversion” therapy, it’s corrective care, and used widely for many different “broken” beliefs related to “bad early input”, with success depending on how willing one is to recover an healthy belief system. Yhwh God gave sch fre will to choose, for himself, but that does not extend to demanding others go along with those choices, and agree with the unhealthy beliefs.
Let the Ugandans live their lives according to their free will choices. It’s not anyone else’ place to try to bully them into compliance with the lies passed off as “compassion” in sick societies .

  2. Why can’t the USA keep their nose out of other Countries affairs? It’s up to their Government to determine what their people want. It’s also obvious the minority ruling class in the USA cares not what the silent majority wants., this will have to change.

    • AMEN! AMEN! AMEN! What do these meddling idiots in the swamp think is going to happen to the homogenitals, buggers and pedos of Uganda just after they die? It’ll be a LOT worse than what the Uganda government is going to do to them!

    • AMEN and AMEN! It’s not our business! And it is NOT an human rights issue; it never was, since all the various sexual perversions are LEARNED behavioral disorders and free will CHOICES, made based on bad “input” almost always before the individuals turn 6, when conscious memories really begin to be formed. They don’t remember the lessons consciously, but they were learned none-the-less, and the choice made based on them. The Ugandans are simply following Yhwh God’s word on the subject.
Human rights are those applicable to all humans at all times, and wich maybe practiced by anyone at any time, without infringing on the rights of anyone else. Special privileges, wat are being erroneously labeled as”human rights” here, are applicable only to some and invariably infringe on the rights of others when practiced by any.

  3. And Cruze thinks the U.S. is CIVILIZED? When we sanction, support, fund and promote the murder of God’s innocent babies for WHATEVER reason the “parent” can think up? Ludicrous! Damning! Satanically hypocritical! If anyone acts to approve abortion or even turns a blind eye, well…..Jesus — The Incarnate God of eternity, enacting The Father’s Will — said, “….if you are tepid, I VOMIT you out of my mouth!” If we dismiss these words for whatever reason, only vast horror and agony await us in our eternity. And if we do nothing against the abomination of abortion, we are doing JUST THAT!

    • Abortion needs no one’s “approval” or consent; it’s the built-in protection of a mother’s body against infection from a deceased and decaying infant in utero! Feticides and infanticides, the deliberate conspiracy to murder live infants in utero, are something very different and carry a severe penalty for all involved, unless they sincerely repent.
